Israel and israel-related programming

Hillel provides opportunities for students to learn about the State of Israel, historical and contemporary Zionism, Israeli culture, Israeli cooking, and modern Hebrew. If you are interested in learning about any of these topics please email Maria Carson, Director of Jewish Life.

Many students are also eligible to travel to Israel for free via the Birthright program.

Travel to Israel & Birthright

Many students are eligible for a free 10-day trip to Israel called Birthright. On Birthright trips, students meet new friends, learn about Judaism and Israeli culture. Birthright has a strong safety record and Maria is available to talk with parents or students who have questions.

Check out current trip options www.birthirghtisrael.com. There are opportunities to travel with your friends, a group of Susquehanna students travelling together, or taking a thematic trip focused on food, LGBTQ issues, and more!

We also have multiple options to travel with SU to Israel. Our GO-Jerusalem program is a great way to explore Jerusalem across interfaith lines. Students have also studied at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem for GO-Long. The GO program is a great way to explore Israel and become immersed in Israeli culture.
